I decided to go with a traditional block for my Christmas fabrics. I will have to look up the name of this star because I don't remember it. I got 6 more blocks sewn but they aren't pressed yet. You can see that some blocks have a variety in them instead of just 2 fabrics. I wanted to use up as much as I could and there weren't as many triangles of some as there were of others.
These 3 were the last ones I sewed and you can tell I was down to the end of the pile with that top block. 15 blocks will be 36" x 60" so it will have a border and use up some more fabric out of the box.
I finished reading this book last night. He really had an art filled life from the time he was a child. He did way more knitting and needlepoint than designing quilts and fabric. It is a very interesting and colorful book. I think I may need to read it again some time.
