Planning time

I love quilts with lots of triangles.  Sometimes I have patience making the blocks and other times I don't.  I think I am ready to do one of these again.  Mine won't be navy blue and beige though.

I purchased two new rulers that will help me be more accurate.  They are the same principle as Thangles as the fabrics are cut from 2.5" strips instead of 2-7/8" strips.  I won't have to spend all of that time tearing off paper but I will have to be careful to sew them accurately.  The larger one is designed to be used with two 2.5" strips sewn together but it will work for plain 4.5" fabric strips too.  You do your cutting with the fabrics already paired and right sides together so they are ready to sew after they are cut.

On this quilt I hope to use the concept of using my 'favorite' fabrics instead of saving them for some unknown project in the future (or letting them be in my estate sale some day).
