By the time I tried those 2 I thought I might as well try a couple more.......4 big blocks.....I like the way the center looks raised.
and a big zig zag. I like this last one but don't think I will sew them that way. At least that's what I think right now. I'll check it again after lunch. 
I shoveled abut 4" this morning and the snow seems to be tapering off. They say it will be back this afternoon.
