I couldn't find any more of the red stripe that was in the quilt so I used one in a similar shade of red for the binding (and yes I had it in my stash). I sewed it on by machine and finished it by machine.
Here is the whole quilt. I still like it as much as I did in the book that I found the pattern in. Link at the bottom of this post.
It took me about 6 shots before I got a clear one with the super macro setting. I used a narrow zigzag to finish the binding on the right side of the quilt.
