The art quilters came and I treated them to a demonstration of working with a group of fabrics and designing a quilt using 1 template from the basic set of Strips 'n Curves acrylic templates and 2 templates from the basic set 2. One of the quilters asked me to sell him a set of fabrics to work with. I had all of these in my stash. I demonstrated cutting the shapes, choosing where on the prints to do the cutting to get interesting areas, and started the design demonstration on a design wall. Then he and I worked together to get the rest of the pieces cut and do the designing. We turned the bottom right corner block a half turn after I had taken this picture.
I think it turned out really well. One of the other quilters asked me to show how I choose a selection of fabrics to work from so I did that with 2 groups of fabrics. Then everyone started working on their quilts. We had a lot of fun.
I didn't get my pieces up on a wall yet so I'll work on that this week. I am using an old Alexander Henry print as my focus fabric.
