Before my company came I cleaned off my computer desk which is in the guest bedroom. If you don't think this looks clean you should have seen it before. The section on the right (that looks like 2 drawers) pulls out about 4 feet and provides another knee hole area as well as a lower file drawer. This area was handy with the first sewing machine that had to be hooked directly to the computer to send embroidery designs. Now when I pull it out it becomes another flat surface that I can pile things on. Added later: a couple people asked about the quilt in this picture. But.....I don't want you to think the whole house is clean. This is the sewing table. It doesn't look like I have worked there lately, does it?
These blocks have been up on the little cardboard design wall in my studio for several months. I was trying to add more black and white to it. I may swap the position of a couple blocks and then I am going to sew it together.
I did get the border sewn on while my company was still here. The sag on the bottom will be smoothed in when I baste it. Since there are bias edges on some of the blocks it is easy to stretch this one out of shape if I'm not careful.
Next to my big hostas in the back garden I have this teeny little hosta. I thought it was so cute when I bought it but I need to move it to a better area this fall.
I'm helping out at a store every afternoon this week so I haven't gotten much done at home. At least I have gotten a little energy back.
