After shoveling there is playtime........

I measured the snow on my sidewalk before I shoveled and it was 11".  I had shoveled off 4" the afternoon before.  I didn't measure anywhere else I'm not sure what our official snowfall was for our town.

I needed to do some prep work for my class on Saturday, that is if the weather cooperates.  I was anxious to see how the greens were going to look anyway.  I can see that my green stripe could have been in a different position, but I like it anyway.

I have been going through all of my Kaffe Fassett books looking for more inspiration and I was getting tired of lugging the heavy books around.  I decided to make a color copy of the ones I am interested in and then I can make notes on the bottom margins or on the backs.  Since he repeats some of his quilts in more than one book, but with different fabrics, I started checking measurements of the pieces.  On the snowball block they are different in 2 of the books so I'm making note of both sizes.  When I pull the fabrics out I want to cut for more than one quilt at a time after taking the time to press the fabric before cutting.

This is my neighbor's garage.  I thought the snow looked like frosting dripping over the edge.  The sun is supposed to shine all day today too, like it did yesterday so I'm sure this snow will change shape.  We're not supposed to even get up to 10 degrees today.  Texas was colder than Illinois yesterday.  It has been a strange winter all over the country.
