Our Land of Lincoln Quilts of Valor group was notified that 170 soldiers (Army) were coming home a month early with a presentation ceremony this weekend. I had brought home 4 tops that needed borders from our last sew in. I got borders on 3 of them and got them quilted yesterday. I even got the binding on one of them. I am happy the troops are getting home before the holiday season to be with their families.
I found out the pattern we are using in these quilts is named "Illinois Road". I have been calling it a pinwheel in error. Two of the quilts are made with 3.5" strips and the other one with 4.5" strips.
For those who asked about the reindeer embroidery pattern yesterday, it is from an Amazing Designs package named "Holiday Dreams I".
