Cutting, cutting, cutting..............

This is what I did while my students were busy and when they didn't need me.  I have a ton of 1.5" batik strips and have intended to make a log cabin quilt for a long time.  I took a big batch of strips with me and filed them by lengths in the pencil boxes.  I need an ongoing project like this to sit and sew on when I am between things or just frazzled by everything that is going on.  I am making them multicolor so I won't be following any plan other than dark and light on the sides they belong on.

The art quilters are coming Monday so I have been cleaning the basement.  You can't even imagine the mess I can make down there while I work on about 5 different projects.
