Scrap art.........................
I started filling this vase with scraps in Jan. 2008. It was filled pretty quickly and I have had it on display on the bookcase in my kitchen. When I was cutting the 100 yards of batiks into 2.5" strips I started to pile the little trimmings on top and kept going as long as it didn't topple over. I really like it and see it as art. I'm sure some non-sewers will disagree with me, but they don't need to visit my kitchen then. If you want to see the whole picture of the quilt, here is where I posted it. The quilting shows up so much better in this picture.
I started another project with the 2.5" strips of yellow that I cut when cutting my yellow quilt. I already had a lot of greens in my bin of strips. I have no idea what I am making out of them. 
I decided I am going to finish the yellow quilt without a border. I have sewn the seam in the back and hopefully I'll start quilting it today.

He didn't like the feel of the quilt on the bed. I'm sure he doesn't remember that I made it and gave it to them. I brought it home and washed it and will take a picture because I don't have a digital picture of it. It is all blues and the calicoes from the time period (late 80's) faded quite a bit.
