Scrap art.........................
I started filling this vase with scraps in Jan. 2008. It was filled pretty quickly and I have had it on display on the bookcase in my kitchen. When I was cutting the 100 yards of batiks into 2.5" strips I started to pile the little trimmings on top and kept going as long as it didn't topple over. I really like it and see it as art. I'm sure some non-sewers will disagree with me, but they don't need to visit my kitchen then. If you want to see the whole picture of the quilt, here is where I posted it. The quilting shows up so much better in this picture.
I started another project with the 2.5" strips of yellow that I cut when cutting my yellow quilt. I already had a lot of greens in my bin of strips. I have no idea what I am making out of them.

I decided I am going to finish the yellow quilt without a border. I have sewn the seam in the back and hopefully I'll start quilting it today.
Last night Dad wanted to go shopping for a bedspread. He didn't like the feel of the quilt on the bed. I'm sure he doesn't remember that I made it and gave it to them. I brought it home and washed it and will take a picture because I don't have a digital picture of it. It is all blues and the calicoes from the time period (late 80's) faded quite a bit.
