There are 63 blocks. I thought I would never get done trimming them down to 11" squares. Half have dark fabric on the longest 2 sides and the other half have light on the longest 2 sides because of the way the fabric is stacked and shuffled for cutting.
Since the layout is 7 rows by 9 rows a symmetrical design wouldn't work. I have thought they would be in this zig zag pattern anyway.
A normal person could probably throw away these little scraps which measure between and inch and 2 inches.
When I was trimming I saw this flaw in one piece of fabric so I will have to see if I have any more of it to replace this piece. (piece on the left, click for closer view)
I took some snow pictures yesterday before it all started blowing off the branches. It was delicate little fluffy piles on the branches. Click on the pictures for close-ups.

There is one stubborn leaf that doesn't want to fall, not in focus because the camera was focusing on the branches in the front.
A cold front came through yesterday and it isn't supposed to get very warm today but they are promising sunshine.
